Disease of the urinary system can involve the kidneys, ureters, bladder or the urethra.  Urologists are specialized surgeons that can address all of the diseases affecting these organs. Today’s urologist is able to utilize minimally invasive techniques to remove kidney stones and diagnose diseases of the bladder or prostate. Minimally invasive surgery allows the patient to recover quicker with less damage to the surrounding tissues and less pain. Diseases of the prostate encompass benign prostatic enlargement to prostate cancer; both of which require the expertise of the urologist. Women may experience increased episodes of loss of urine with progressive age (incontinence) and our urologists are able to address these diseases. Male impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, affects an increasing number of men, especially those over 50 who also have diabetes and/or hypertension. Our urologists are able to offer a multitude of options, including medical or surgical treatments.

The division of Urology at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center aims to treat patients in an effective manner utilizing the latest medical knowledge and techniques enabling us to provide the very best outcomes for our patients. Our goal is to deliver these services in a clean, modern facility where the patient’s needs are our first priority.

Our department consists of board-certified urologists who provide outpatient care in their private offices as well as in the ambulatory care hospital outpatient facilities. For patients requiring hospitalization, their inpatient care is supervised by our attending urologists. All patients are treated equally regardless of financial considerations. Patients requiring immediate care are seen in our emergency department, both pediatric and adult. Those deemed ill enough are admitted, others are referred for follow-up in our ambulatory facilities.

At Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, we have a comprehensive array of the latest medical equipment and can provide for any and all urologic illnesses. Kidney stones are treated with the latest laser technology so that surgery for kidney stones is rarely performed.  Prostate problems are treated in the least invasive method possible, using the most recent technology available. Wyckoff Heights Medical Center ancillary departments, such as Radiology, are equipped to perform any and all studies relative to Urology. We perform renal and bladder sonograms, IVP’s, CT scans and renal scans.

Our Urology Department strives for excellence. Our physicians are highly trained in the most current technology and are available for personal consultation.
