The Biomedical Engineering Department maintains a medical equipment management program that promotes the safe and effective use of diagnostic, therapeutic, and life support equipment. This is accomplished through the monitoring of proper equipment repair, inspection, calibration and application.
The department provides equipment support services to Nursing and staff of other clinical departments. Biomedical Engineering staff is available on premises from Monday through Friday 7 AM to 4 PM and provide 24-hour emergency services call.
Additionally, the Department regularly conducts quality of service assessment, submits assessment results, and reports to the Environment of Care and Quality Management Committees. The Department also manages the maintenance risks program for other equipment for which the Hospital has contracts.
